I currently have three manager positions open on my team (two for teams of size ~8-12, and one for a senior manager-of-managers managing a team of about ~25 people), and am always hiring exceptional engineers. A background in Ads is not necessary, only that you be passionate about our mission and work.
You can read a bit about how the teams operate here.
I expect all managers and leaders on teams I support to be empathetic, empowering, and to put people first.
For managers, I am looking for someone very familiar with building software, and well-versed in both people and project management. We do not expect managers to code or review code, but you should be familiar with both. For senior managers, I am looking for people with strength in collaboration in addition to expertise in driving large projects and strong people support skills. In a bottoms-up culture like Facebook, strong horizontal collaboration is key.
For engineers, in addition to superior technical skills, I am looking for someone comfortable in navigating ambiguous problem spaces. Engineers at Facebook typically have broad charter and freedom – you should be sufficiently independent and self-directed to succeed here.

Senior Engineering Manager, Ads Measurement
This is a role managing our strategy around an area within ML and is a blended team of ML and Infra engineers, who own the problem end-to-end. I am looking for someone who is:
- Strong on horizontal collaboration (since a lot of teams depend on our work, and also because Facebook is a bottoms-up culture),
- Proven track record of growing senior engineers and leaders and
- Proficient in project management of ML-based projects (which tend to have more exploration than other engineering projects).
Engineers
I am looking for both ML generalists, as well as infrastructure-focused engineers (mostly C++, some Java). I’m looking for both senior and junior engineers who are willing to span multiple systems. Given that we’re a full-stack team, an ability and interest in understanding the whole stack goes a long way.
Contact me here if you’re interested.
Working in Seattle & Bellevue
The teams are located in Seattle and Bellevue. Facebook Seattle is the largest Facebook office outside of headquarters, and located in the South Lake Union area. We also have a large presence in Bellevue, which is now our fastest growing office. We are flexible on which office you want to work from, although we try to make sure that engineers of a specific team all are located in the same office. You can read more about the Seattle office here and here.
If you live across the lake (Eastside), Facebook runs an excellent shuttle program, and shuttles are comfortable enough to work while commuting (they all have wifi, power outlets, a few tables and a restroom). Facebook also provides free UberPool rides (Facebook pays the cost, but it is a taxable benefit) to and from the office, which provides even more flexibility.
